Pictet expands EM equity team

Asian equities specialist Avo Ora has joined Pictet's emerging markets equity team as senior investment manager.

He will be responsible for Asia ex-Japan regional portfolios, reporting to Nidhi Mahurkar and Klaus Bockstaller. Ora joins from Putnam Investment, US, were he was senior vice president for Asia Pacific ex Japan strategies. Richard Heelis, CIO of equities, said: "Avo's appointment represents a significant reinforcement of our emerging markets expertise to this crucial region." Pictet had £5bn of assets under management in emerging market equities as at 28 February.
